The exhibit titled “The Facts of Life” features a range of work from Michals' 40-year career, including politically driven works that relate to and explore issues faced from 1980 to the present by the gay community.  The exhibit presents new work from his Cavafy books, The Adventures of Constantine Cavafy and Ten Poems by Cavafy, as well as portraits of authors, writers and artists, including Tennessee Williams, Pier Pasolini and Joel Gray.

There are works drawn from Michals' impressive career, including “The Return of the Prodigal Son” and new work from his Cavafy books, The Adventures of Constantine Cavafy and Ten Poems by Cavafy, and from Ten Photographs by Duane Michals, published in 1978.

Michals' work is in permanent collections including the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  Michal’s archive is housed at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh.

Professor Harris Fogel, Media Arts Department at The University of the Arts, serves as curator.
