Malcolm Lazin is the Founder and Executive Director, Equality Forum.    Equality Forum is a national and international GLBT civil rights organization which undertakes high impact initiatives, produces documentary films, coordinates GLBT History Month and presents the largest annual national and international GLBT civil rights forum.

Malcolm is the Executive Producer of JIM IN BOLD, a documentary about the impact of homophobia on GLBTQ youth, Gay Pioneers, a documentary about the start of the gay and lesbian civil rights movement and Saint of 9/11, a documentary about the life of Father Mychal Judge, Chaplain, Fire Department of New York.

Malcolm is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College and Boston University School of Law.   He served as an Assistant US Attorney and headed federal grand jury investigations into white collar crime.   He received the U.S. Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award, the Department’s highest annual honor.

Malcolm was the Chair of the Pennsylvania Crime Commission, the principal state agency to investigate organized crime.    Malcolm was a litigation partner in a Philadelphia law firm.

Malcolm conceived the idea to light the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, organized the bi-state committee and served as co-chair of the development committee that raised over $1.7 million to fund the completed project.

Malcolm was President of an urban waterfront renewal company that built the first major project on Philadelphia’s waterfront.   He served as Chair, Philadelphia Waterfront Developers Council that was responsible for initiating important Philadelphia waterfront infrastructure improvements.

Malcolm chairs the Washington Square Committee.   Washington Square is the largest Revolutionary War burial site.   Malcolm helped lead a successful 15-year effort that resulted in Washington Square being included in Independence National Historical Park.

Malcolm serves on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, Lebanon Valley College and is a member of the Strategic Planning and Academic and Student Affairs Committees.

Malcolm has received numerous regional, state and national awards.   Malcolm is the 2005 recipient of the National Education Association’s (NEA) Creative Leadership in Human Rights Award.    Malcolm is the recipient of the 2006 Distinguished Alumni Award from Lebanon Valley College.     Malcolm is a 2007 Prime Mover of the Hunt Alternatives Fund, which selects annually eight leaders engaged in progressive national social change.
